The Amazon rainforest, Earth’s largest lung, is in crisis. With 34% of its forests lost due to deforestation, logging, agriculture, and climate change, it is nearing a critical tipping point. One of the key highlights was the launch of The Regeneration Generation documentary, which delves into the Amazon’s intricate ecosystem and its Indigenous communities. Through art and advocacy, the film showcases the essential role these communities play in global sustainability and serves as a call to protect their way of life.

“Sustainable finance isn’t just smart business—it’s a responsibility,” said Jean Philippe, Board Advisor for Corporate Governance and Sustainability. “By embedding sustainability into financial practices, we can channel capital towards green innovation and regenerative solutions, creating an impact for generations to come.”

The summit also featured Indrani Pal-Chaudhuri, founder of the Shakti Regeneration Institute, who is well-known for her efforts to raise awareness about important global issues. “Our work is about more than just addressing crises; it’s about transforming culture and behaviour to build a just and sustainable world for future generations,” she said, underscoring the importance of change alongside environmental action.

Protecting ecosystems like the Amazon is key to that mission. It’s not just about the environment—it’s about the people who live there as well. The rainforest provides 20% of the world’s oxygen, absorbs 2 billion tonnes of carbon annually, and houses 10% of the planet’s known species. “Safeguarding the Amazon means protecting the cultural heritage and livelihoods of those who call it home,” Philippe added.
